Description

Lamivir 100 mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine which is used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections. This medicine is not a cure for HIV. It only prevents the virus from multiplying in your body. Monitoring of liver function and kidney function may be necessary while receiving this medicine based on the clinical condition.

Dosing

Take 1 tablet of Lamivir 100 mg online  once daily. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible—unless it is within 2 hours of the next dose. In this case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.

How does Lamivudine work:

This drug is prescribed for HIVAIDS, and hepatitis B either alone or with other medication. It works by reducing the amount of hepatitis B virus in the body

How should Lamivudine be used:

To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses. Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better. In Lamivir 100 mg use  care, this drug is most often taken with 2 other drugs. Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach. There is a liquid (solution) if you cannot swallow pills. Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given.

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

Overdosage

Currently, there is no known antidote for acute Lamivir 100 mg dosage  . While taking this medication, please follow the provided dosage guidelines to avoid this condition. Any overdose should be immediately reported to a medical professional, so that proper monitoring of your condition may occur. If you feel as if your medication is not working, discuss alternatives with your doctor.

Drug Interactions

Lamivudine is eliminated from the body in the urine. There is a possibility of drug interaction if you take other drugs that are also excreted in this manner. Please consult a doctor prior to taking this medication to avoid any possible complications.
Medications such as valganciclovir, famciclovir, acyclovir, and ganciclovir can result in life-threatening reactions.

How do I store Lamivudine :

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
